Responsibilities
- Install new HVAC systems including mechanical systems repair, equipment troubleshooting, and system integration in commercial settings.
- Conduct routine maintenance on HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning / Refrigeration) systems to ensure peak performance and energy efficiency.
- Diagnose electrical issues using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and perform electrical diagnostics on complex electrical systems.
- Repair and replace components in HVAC units, boilers, refrigeration systems, and building automation controls to minimize downtime.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and HVAC design plans to execute installations and repairs accurately.
- Perform comprehensive system inspections to identify potential issues before they escalate into costly failures.
- Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and inspection reports to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations such as EPA certifications.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction or service technician roles specializing in HVAC systems repair and maintenance.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools for equipment repair and installation.
- Familiarity with schematics, HVAC design principles, plumbing systems, electrical systems, and building automation systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot refrigeration issues including ammonia refrigeration systems when applicable.
- Knowledge of HVAC/R components such as compressors, condensers, evaporators, thermostats, and control wiring.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating <PERSON> driver vehicles preferred.
- Certification in EPA refrigerant handling required; additional certifications in electrical diagnostics or boiler operation are advantageous.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients and team members.

Pay: $25.00 - $55.00 per hour
