We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Accountant to join our clients team. This is a permanent position that offers the opportunity to work with a diverse and innovative team. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing and coordinating the financial activities of the company. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for maintaining financial reports, records, and general ledgers; preparing and analyzing budgets; and performing general bookkeeping. This role also includes ensuring compliance with FASB standards and providing accurate, timely financial information to company leaders.
Responsibilities:

Prepare accurate, timely financial statements in accordance with our established schedule and with input from the rest of the accounting department

Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance

Review all inter-company transactions and generate invoices as necessary

Reconcile balance sheet accounts

Coordinate semi-annual audits and assist CFO with conducting audits

Conduct regular ledger maintenance

Adhere to FASB standards to maintain financial security of the organization

Analyze financial reports and provide recommendations for improvement

Prepare and post monthly journal entries

Assist with the month-end closing process, ensuring the accurate and timely completion of all tasks

Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to meet internal and external financial reporting requirements

Collaborate with team members to support overall department goals and objectives
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification preferred

Minimum of 5 years of related experience in financial reporting, general ledger accounting, and financial analysis

Experience with computerized ledger systems

Advanced knowledge of accounting and financial procedures, including FASB regulations and GAAP
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively, in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
-
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
-
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
-
Experience in the scientific industry is a plus

Strong understanding of financial and accounting principles

Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
-
Proactive, hands-on strategic thinker who will own, in partnership with the CFO, the responsibility for accounting.
