Dementia Support Northwest (DSNW) has been providing services and support for individuals living with dementia and their caregivers for over 40 years.
The mission of DSNW is to support people with dementia and their caregivers, family and friends through education, and working with community partners to expand resources.
DSNW envisions a community where Alzheimer’s and other dementias are understood and accepted. We desire to bring awareness to our society with an understanding of the overwhelming devastation caused by the dementias, and to expand social and health systems serving those affected by dementia-related diseases.
Position Summary
The Internal Bookkeeper is responsible for processing all financial transactions for the organization, including accounts payable and receivable, reconciliation, and generating reports. The bookkeeper reports directly to the Executive Director.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and balance the general ledger using NetSuite in an accurate, complete, and up-to-date manner
- Perform all activities related to the accounts payable function including reviewing, coding, and processing payments
- Perform account receivable functions including invoicing, preparing deposits, collections, and revenue recognition
- Interpret and apply accounting policies, rules, and regulations to all work in order to ensure compliance with applicable standards
- Conduct reconciliation of all accounts monthly
- Prepare monthly financial reports for the Executive Director and Board of Directors
- Work with external payroll technician and accountant as needed to ensure that all payroll, tax, and other local, State, and Federal reporting requirements are maintained.
Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, OR
- 3-5 years’ relevant experience working in accounting and bookkeeping, preferably in a non-profit organization
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of GAAP
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient skills in NetSuite, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Teams
- Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Experience working or volunteering in community-based non-profit organizations preferred but not required.
- Compassionate, respectful, flexible, and dependable, with professional integrity.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Successful completion of a fingerprint-based DSHS background check.

Compensation & Benefits
- Pay: $24-26/hour, approximately 20-25 hours per week,
- Flexible schedule, dependent on work volume week-to-week.

Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour
