We are seeking an experienced Operator Mechanic to join our manufacturing team. This role combines machine operation, die setting, equipment setup, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and quality control to ensure safe and efficient production. The ideal candidate has prior manufacturing experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
- Install, adjust, and maintain fabrication equipment.
- Set up production equipment to maximize efficiency and quality.
- Recommend improvements to tooling and production processes.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings to ensure proper installation and setup of tooling and equipment.
- Operate assigned production equipment safely and efficiently.
- Perform quality inspections and hourly production counts.
- Clear jams and perform routine machine servicing.
- Diagnose and resolve minor tooling and production issues.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on production equipment.
- Maintain tools and equipment in clean, safe working condition.
- Document maintenance activities and findings in the maintenance management system.
- Coordinate repairs with maintenance or tooling personnel as needed.
- Identify and resolve equipment, quality, and production issues.
- Make machine adjustments to maintain production standards and product quality.
- Respond quickly to quality or performance deviations.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
- Properly store tools, materials, and equipment.
- Assist with inventory, organization, and general housekeeping duties.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures.
- Report unsafe conditions immediately.
- Report spills, dropped loads, or other safety concerns.
- Promote a safe and productive work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or production leadership.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous manufacturing experience.
- Experience operating production machinery.
- Basic mechanical maintenance experience.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience with blanking, draw/body-making, or similar fabrication equipment.
- Experience with PLC-controlled manufacturing equipment.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Experience using precision measuring instruments and gauges while maintaining tight tolerances.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
