JOB SUMMARY
The Workforce Coordinator is primarily responsible for ensuring that the established vision of MRC’s workforce development program is clearly outlined, defined, and implementable within the community served. This position supports established employment training, work readiness activities, and a strategy for participants' job placement. This role requires flexibility in working evening hours to accommodate the dynamic needs of evening educational sessions and case management needs. This is a part-time, non-exempt position, which requires flexibility in work hours.
Salary negotiable based on Experience.
TIME
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Event Coordination
- Coordinate logistics for evening educational sessions
- Ensure a welcoming and inclusive environment conducive to effective learning.
- Assists with developing and implementing effective communication strategies to promote evening programs through various channels, including social media, and community outreach events.
- Respond to inquiries, provide information, and communicate regularly with program participants.
- Maintain accurate records of program details, attendance, and outcomes.
- Collect metrics to measure the success and impact of workforce development programs.
- Collect feedback from participants to continually improve program offerings.
Caseload Management
- Provides coaching, counseling to participants 17 and older on professional skills necessary for employability or career advancement. This may include, but are not limited to, resume writing, interviewing and computer skills.
- Foster a collaborative environment to enhance communication and coordination within the case management team.
- Assists Workforce Development Coordinator with setting up job interview opportunities.
- Assists Workforce Development Coordinator with organizing and executing job fairs, or similar events.
- Assists participants in creating a customizable workforce study plan to layout and facilitate the necessary steps to achieve their job/career goals
- Maintains appropriate records and provides records as needed to Director and/or agency partners and funders.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Undergraduate degree with emphasis in human behavior, and/or related field.
- One-year experience in human services and/or case management.
- Knowledge of community resources both internal and external.
- Interest and affinity with population of primary focus.
- Ability to prioritize and think clearly in crisis situations.
- Ability to manage and organized schedules, appointments, and other logistical aspects of workforce coordination.
- Ability to communicate with colleagues, counselors and other professionals and to observe professional boundaries both with participants and other professionals.
- Ability to communicate in Spanish as well as have in-depth understanding of Hispanic culture, including an appreciation of its strengths.
- Reliable personal transportation available to conduct agency business, as necessary.
- Bilingual in Spanish
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Two years or more of experience within a not for profit agency completing duties similar to those outlined.
- Knowledge of accessible legal resources.
