We are seeking a dependable and versatile Maintenance & Fabrication Technician to support the maintenance, repair, and improvement of our facility and equipment. The ideal candidate is hands-on, adaptable, mechanically inclined, and eager to learn. This is not a basic maintenance role – this position requires a skilled builder, fabricator, troubleshooter, and problem-solver with the ability to analyze equipment performance and confidence in diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues. This position can expect to routinely build custom solutions, fabricate fixtures and workstations, repair industrial equipment, improve facility infrastructure, troubleshoot mechanical failures, and support production operations in a fast-paced aerospace environment.
Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required based on operational needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Perform general facility maintenance and repairs (electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and structural).
· Observe, diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial equipment, pneumatic systems, pumps, compressors, sanders, filtration systems, shop equipment, carts, fixtures, liquid transfer, plumbing, storage solutions, and facility infrastructure.
· Perform preventative maintenance and emergency repairs on production and facility equipment to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
· Support the Facilities Supervisor in equipment installation, relocation, teardown, and commissioning.
· Disassemble, repair, adjust, and reassemble equipment as needed to restore proper function.
· Repair or fabricate replacement components when OEM solutions are unavailable or impractical.
· Design and fabricate custom fixtures, carts, shelving, workstations, racks, guards, tooling, and operational improvements.
· Perform welding, cutting, grinding, drilling, fastening, assembly, and general fabrication activities to build or modify existing equipment or structures to improve safety, efficiency, ergonomics, or functionality.
· Support continuous improvement projects throughout the facility.
· Perform repairs and improvements related to building systems, doors, walls, lighting, plumbing fixtures, compressed air systems, and production spaces.
· Support facility organization, equipment layout changes, and workspace optimization.
· Operate forklifts, lifts, pallet jacks, saws, welders, torches, pneumatics, and other industrial equipment safely and effectively.
· Coordinate with outside vendors or contractors when specialized support is required.
· Respond rapidly to production-impacting issues and equipment downtime – prioritizing maintenance and fabrication tasks based on operational needs.
· Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
· 5+ years of hands-on experience in industrial maintenance, fabrication, heavy equipment, mechanical repair, construction, manufacturing, welding, or similar technical trades.
· Experience working with and around welding, fabrication, cutting, grinding, drilling, general metal working, and operating industrial equipment and power tools.
· Ability to read basic drawings, sketches, measurements, and technical instructions.
· Ability to diagnose unfamiliar mechanical systems and develop practical repair solutions.
· Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical creativity.
· Safely operate ladders and man lifts up to 30 feet in height.
· Comfortable working independently with minimal direction.
· Valid driver’s license is required.
· Mig welding experience required, Tig welding experience preferred.
· Experience in aerospace, manufacturing, industrial, automotive, agricultural, or heavy equipment environments preferred.
· Forklift certification, or ability to attain certification in first 3 months.
· Experience with pneumatics, hydraulics, compressed air systems, or industrial machinery preferred.
· Basic electrical troubleshooting experience preferred.
Pay: $27.00 - $41.00 per hour
