Summary
The Air Quality Services' Intern provides entry-level support to environmental professionals assisting with air quality permitting, regulatory compliance, and emissions reporting projects. This position offers an opportunity to learn about environmental regulations, industrial operations, and air quality management while gaining practical experience.
The intern will work under close supervision and receive training in air quality permitting processes, emissions data management, and environmental compliance activities.
What You'll Do
- Assist with collecting and organizing facility operational and emissions data.
- Support project teams with data entry, document management, and recordkeeping.
- Help prepare spreadsheets, tables, and summaries for permitting and compliance projects.
- Conduct basic research on environmental regulations and agency requirements.
- Assist with organizing information needed for permit applications and regulatory reports.
- Maintain project files and compliance tracking records.
- Attend project meetings and training sessions.
- Provide general administrative and technical support to the Air Quality Services team.
- Assist with special projects within Environmental Services as assigned.
Education
A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
Additional Requirements and Qualifications
The Student Intern Program requires participants to work a minimum of 15 hours per week and up to a maximum of 40 hours per week. Scheduled hours may vary based on departmental needs and hiring manager’s discretion, provided hours worked remain within the 15–40 hour weekly range.
College level coursework (100 or higher) from an accredited institution is preferred. Management will evaluate college-level coursework individually to determine if it is applicable to the position and relevant to the required skills.
Hybrid Workplace
SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
