Overview
Spartan Wealth Management is seeking a dedicated and client-focused Employee Benefits Specialist to join our expanding Employee Benefits practice. This role is ideal for an employee benefits professional who enjoys building strong client relationships, solving problems, and providing exceptional service to employers and their employees.
The successful candidate will serve as a key resource for our clients, working closely with Account Managers, Benefit Consultants, carriers, and vendor partners to deliver a seamless benefits experience throughout the year. While experience with Employee Navigator is preferred, the primary focus of this position is client service, account support, and benefits administration. We welcome candidates with varying levels of Employee Navigator experience, particularly those with exposure to eligibility and enrollment processing, who demonstrate a willingness to learn and further develop their skills within the platform.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a primary day-to-day contact for employer groups and employees, providing responsive and professional client service.
- Process and manage employee eligibility changes, including new hires, terminations, status changes, dependents, and qualifying life events through Employee Navigator, ensuring timely and accurate carrier updates.
- Support annual renewals and open enrollment activities, ensuring a smooth and positive enrollment experience.
- Partner with Account Managers and Benefit Consultants to maintain strong client relationships and support account retention efforts.
- Assist clients and employees in resolving claim and service-related issues by coordinating with insurance carriers, TPAs, and internal team members to research concerns, provide status updates, and facilitate timely resolution.
- Assist with onboarding new clients and supporting ongoing account management activities.
- Maintain accurate client records and benefit administration data.
- Help identify process improvements that enhance service delivery and overall client satisfaction.
- Participate in client meetings, employee education efforts, and other service-related initiatives as needed.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in employee benefits, client service, account management, or human resources.
- 2+ years of experience using Employee Navigator for eligibility, enrollment, and benefits administration activities; experience building and renewing client portals for open enrollment is preferred.
- Michigan Life & Health Insurance License preferred (or willingness to obtain).
- Knowledge of group medical, dental, vision, life, disability, HSA, FSA, COBRA, ACA, HIPAA, ERISA, and voluntary benefits.
- Strong commitment to delivering exceptional client service and building trusted relationships.
- Ability to manage multiple client needs and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
