The Nutrition and Health Promotion Division administers a variety of grant-funded nutrition and health education programs including WIC, Tobacco Cessation, AZ Health Zone, and Overdose Data to Action.

Congress established the Special Supplemental Food Program for Women, Infants, and Children (later known as WIC) as a 2-year pilot program in 1972.

Our Mission
Women, Infants and Children (WIC) is a federally funded program providing residents with nutritious foods, one-on-one nutrition education and referrals. WIC serves pregnant women, breastfeeding and postpartum women, infants, and children under age five who meet WIC eligibility guidelines.

Eligibility Technician-> Starting salary, $17.03/hr.
Monday-Thursdays 7:00am-5:00pm.
Friday 8:00am-12:00pm.
Weekends off
Mostly working in an office setting handling appointments with WIC/potential participants in person, over the phone, and virtually.
May be required to work the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or New Year's Eve since the WIC clinics are open during those times.
The position requires screening for eligibility for the WIC program, but counseling skills comprise part of the job duties.
There will be 3 months at a minimum of training for this position.
Must be able to travel throughout different county locations. Working conditions would include but not limited to:-
Travel will be mostly in Mohave County but may be required to another part of the state as needed during work hours.

Travel will be mostly within Mohave County with travel to additional outlying county locations as needed, including Bullhead City, Lake Havasu City, Northern Arizona Strip, and other areas including attending required trainings or meetings, while operating a Mohave County provided vehicle.

This position may also include the occasional moderate lifting of 25 - 50lbs.
