Duties
- Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using appropriate patient transfer methods and equipment like Hoyer lifts.
- Monitor and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates, maintaining detailed medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA and other regulations.
- Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper handling and adherence to safety protocols.
- Provide specialized care for patients with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, utilizing memory care techniques and maintaining a safe environment.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care plans and communicate patient needs effectively.
- Practice aseptic techniques during procedures like catheter care or wound management to prevent infection.
- Utilize electronic health records (EHR/Epic) systems for accurate documentation and efficient patient information management.
Requirements
- Current certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) in good standing with the state licensing board.
- Prior experience working in long-term care facilities, hospitals (including ICU or trauma centers), or home health environments is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs monitoring, and basic life support (BLS/CPR).
- Experience working with diverse patient populations including geriatrics, pediatric patients, individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks for medical documentation purposes.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely while following safe lifting practices and heavy lifting protocols when necessary.
- Strong communication skills for caregiver-patient interactions and team collaboration.
- Knowledge of infection control practices and HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality at all times.

Pay: $15.50 - $16.50 per hour
