Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards during the closing shift
- Ensure all food handling and safety protocols are strictly followed to maintain hygiene and compliance
- Assist with meal preparation, plating, and garnishing to deliver visually appealing dishes
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, equipment, and utensils throughout the shift and at shift end
- Support inventory management by accurately recording usage and communicating supply needs
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and timely service completion
- Follow all food safety regulations and proper knife skills techniques to prevent cross-contamination and accidents
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or as a line cook in a restaurant or food industry setting
- Strong knowledge of food handling procedures and food safety standards
- Excellent knife skills with the ability to efficiently prepare ingredients for cooking
- Experience with menu planning and meal preparation for diverse dietary needs
- Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with catering, fine dining, or restaurant experience is highly desirable
- Effective communication skills to coordinate with kitchen staff and front-of-house team
