About the Role
We're building the WEPA Faculty—a national network of respected library practitioners who develop and facilitate professional learning for colleagues across the country.
As a Library Professional Learning Designer, you'll transform your real-world library expertise into engaging, practical learning experiences that help fellow library professionals strengthen their work and better serve multilingual communities.
This is a project-based independent contractor role for professionals who are recognized for their expertise and are passionate about advancing the library profession through high-quality professional learning.
What You'll Do
Depending on your expertise and project assignment, you may:
- Design engaging virtual professional learning sessions for library audiences.
- Create original presentation decks, facilitator guides, participant handouts, implementation tools, and other professional learning resources.
- Facilitate live virtual workshops and learning experiences.
- Develop practical professional resources that library professionals can immediately implement in their own institutions.
- Collaborate with the ¡WEPA! líbros® team throughout the content development and review process.
- Revise professional learning resources based on editorial feedback.
- Contribute to a growing body of professional learning developed by ¡WEPA! líbros®.

You do not need experience in every area. We're building a diverse faculty of professionals with a wide range of expertise, lived experiences, and perspectives.
Qualifications Required
- Minimum five years of professional experience in a public or school library.
- Demonstrated leadership or subject-matter expertise in one or more areas of library practice.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong presentation and facilitation abilities.
- Ability to independently develop high-quality professional learning resources.
- Ability to manage projects independently and meet deadlines.
- Comfortable collaborating remotely.
Preferred
- MLIS or equivalent professional library experience.
- Experience presenting at conferences, webinars, or professional development events.
- Experience designing presentations, guides, toolkits, or other professional learning resources.
- Experience serving multilingual communities.

Compensation
- Compensation will be structured as a fixed project fee, depending on the scope of work.
- Remote, project-based assignments with a flexible schedule.
Intellectual Property
All presentations, facilitator guides, participant materials, templates, recordings, and other work products created under this agreement are considered work made for hire and become the exclusive intellectual property of ¡WEPA! líbros®.
