Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sous Chef to join our team at an addiction recovery facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production (from scratch), demonstrating a solid foundation in various types of cuisine, and experience in nutritious meal planning, and a passion for helping others. As our Sous Chef, you will be responsible for preparation of lunch and dinner for clients and staff, maintaining grocery inventory--including shopping--and coordination with the Head Chef and Nutritionist on menu planning.
Duties
- Prepare and cook high-quality dishes according to established recipes and standards.
- Ensure proper food handling and sanitation practices are followed at all times.
- Ensure meals meet dietary restrictions of clients and staff.
- Collaborate with the Head Chef and Nutritionist on menu and meal planning
- Monitor inventory levels, and helping with shopping to replenish stock.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including equipment and workstations.
- Ensure kitchen is sanitized, and excess food is properly stored after each meal
Requirements
- Experience in cooking meals for large groups (15-40)
- Strong knowledge of food handling, preparation techniques, and safety regulations.
- Familiarity with food service management principles and practices.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in food production processes.
- Culinary degree or relevant certification is preferred but not mandatory.
- Prior experience in substance abuse treatment is preferred but not mandatory.
