What You'll Do
As a Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing heavy equipment and industrial machinery to ensure safe and reliable operation.
Responsibilities include:
- Repair and maintain heavy equipment and industrial machinery
- Diagnose mechanical issues and determine appropriate repairs
- Repair or replace damaged and worn components
- Perform equipment inspections and preventive maintenance
- Operate repaired equipment to verify successful repairs
- Record maintenance and repair activities
- Test equipment to ensure performance meets manufacturer specifications
- Lubricate, clean, and service equipment and vehicles
- Read and interpret operating manuals, technical documents, blueprints, and diagrams
- Utilize diagnostic tools and computerized testing equipment to troubleshoot issues
- Maintain a safe and organized work area

- Other heavy-duty equipment and machinery
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience assisting in repairing and maintaining heavy equipment
- OR Associate Degree in Heavy Duty Truck Repair, Heavy Equipment Repair, or a related field with at least 2 years of relevant experience
- Valid driver's license required
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Experience with hydraulic systems, heavy equipment, and industrial machinery preferred

Physical Requirements
- Stand for extended periods, up to 12-hour shifts
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Walk frequently on uneven surfaces
- Bend, stoop, crouch, and reach as needed
- Continually handle tools and equipment components
- Maintain attention to detail while working safely in an active industrial environment
Work Environment
This position works in and around heavy equipment and industrial operations and may involve exposure to:
- Outdoor weather conditions
- Noise, dust, dirt, and fumes
- Moving machinery and equipment
- Industrial work environments requiring PPE
Required PPE may include:
- Safety-toe boots
- Hearing protection
- Respirators
- Face shields
- Other safety equipment as required
