Duties
- Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and facilitate smooth patient intake processes using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- PHLEBOTOMY SKILLS REQUIRED
- Obtain and record vital signs, medical histories, and assist with patient assessments in various specialties including dermatology, urgent care, hospital medicine, and geriatrics.
- Prepare exam rooms, assist providers during examinations and procedures such as phlebotomy, medication administration, and basic life support (BLS).
- Manage medical documentation accurately, including ICD coding, medical records management, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Schedule appointments, follow-up visits, and coordinate referrals while maintaining efficient front desk operations.
- Support clinical staff with tasks like taking patient histories, explaining treatment plans, and ensuring proper medication documentation.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the medical office environment to promote safety and efficiency.
Experience
- Prior experience working in a medical office setting with a strong foundation in medical administrative support and patient service.
- Hands-on experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) or Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems is essential.
- Clinical experience in outpatient or inpatient environments across specialties such as dermatology, emergency medicine, or hospital medicine is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, ICD coding, and medical documentation standards.
- Demonstrated ability to perform phlebotomy and assist with medication administration in fast-paced settings like urgent care or trauma centers.
- Experience working within hospital environments or Level I/II trauma centers is a plus.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications related to emergency medicine or advanced clinical skills are advantageous.
