Responsibilities
- Assist in the setup, operation, and maintenance of irrigation systems and agricultural environmental control systems to optimize plant growth.
- Monitor and manage crop health through integrated pest management strategies and plant pest control techniques.
- Perform greenhouse cultivation tasks, including garden trimming, pruning, and landscaping to promote healthy plant development.
- Follow SOPs for crop production, irrigation management, and horticultural practices to ensure consistency and quality.
- Conduct regular inspections of outdoor work areas, greenhouses, and irrigation systems to identify issues early and implement corrective actions.
- Support crop pest management efforts by applying appropriate treatments and managing horticultural teams during planting, harvesting, and maintenance activities.
- Use hand tools and basic math skills to measure soil moisture levels, adjust irrigation schedules, and perform other routine tasks efficiently.
- Assist with heavy lifting as needed during planting or harvesting seasons while maintaining safety protocols.
Skills
- Proven experience with irrigation management, including installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of irrigation systems.
- Strong knowledge of horticulture principles, greenhouse cultivation techniques, and outdoor gardening practices.
- Familiarity with agricultural environmental control systems used to regulate temperature, humidity, and light levels in greenhouses.
- Experience in crop production processes, including planting schedules, pruning, trimming, and harvesting.
- Ability to implement integrated pest management strategies effectively for healthy plant growth.
- Skilled in managing horticultural teams to coordinate planting, maintenance, and harvest activities efficiently.
- Hands-on experience with gardening tools, lawn care equipment, and landscaping techniques.
- Basic math skills for measuring soil moisture levels, adjusting irrigation settings, and recording data accurately.
- Physical ability for heavy lifting and performing outdoor work in various weather conditions while maintaining safety standards.
