Role Description
SSN Corporation is seeking a Mid to Senior Design Architect for our Raleigh, North Carolina office. The Architect will contribute to building architectural design, land planning, and subdivision projects from conceptual planning through permitting and construction coordination, and lead a team of 5 junior architect to architect interns. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong team-leading capacity, building design capability, technical expertise in site planning and zoning compliance, and the ability to coordinate with civil engineers, surveyors, and regulatory agencies to successfully deliver residential and mixed-use subdivision developments.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and lead architectural designs for residential and mixed-use developments.
- Develop land planning concepts, subdivision layouts, and site development strategies.
- Coordinate zoning analysis, feasibility studies, and code compliance reviews.
- Prepare and review site plans, master plans, and subdivision drawings.
- Contribute to the building design and is familiar with IBC.
- Collaborate with civil, structural, and MEP teams to ensure coordinated project delivery.
- Coordinate permitting submissions and respond to municipal review comments.
- Attend planning board meetings, public hearings, and client meetings as required.
- Ensure compliance with local building codes, zoning ordinances, and subdivision regulations.
- Maintain project schedules and coordinate with project management teams.
- Represent the company professionally with clients, municipalities, and consultants.
Basic Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture.
- Active Architectural License (North Carolina preferred; multi-state licensure a plus).
- 8+ years of experience in architectural design with hands on experience in both land planning/ subdivision and building design projects.
- Strong knowledge of zoning regulations, subdivision ordinances, and permitting processes in North Carolina.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other architectural design software.
- Strong understanding of site grading, utilities coordination, and development standards.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to visit project sites and traverse undeveloped land when required.
- Ability to attend municipal meetings and public hearings as necessary.
- Ability to work in both office and field environments.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
