Initial KC is more than a retail store. We’re a community driven destination in Kansas City built around sneakers, streetwear, fashion, and collectibles. From exclusive footwear and apparel to Pokémon cards and trending collectibles, we create experiences and build relationships.
We’re looking for team members who genuinely love the culture and enjoy connecting with people. If you naturally talk sneakers, fashion trends, Pokémon, collecting, or simply enjoy helping people find something they’re excited about, we want to meet you.
THE ROLE
We’re hiring outgoing Retail Sales Associates who are passionate about sneakers, streetwear, fashion, and collectibles. You’ll help create a welcoming atmosphere while building customer relationships and delivering exceptional service.
We are not simply looking for cashiers. We want culture driven individuals who enjoy conversations, know what’s trending, and can help customers discover products they love.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Create a fun, energetic environment and provide excellent customer service
- Build relationships with customers and create repeat business
- Help customers with sneakers, apparel, collectibles, and product recommendations
- Stay informed on sneaker releases, streetwear trends, Pokémon, and collectible products
- Assist with merchandising and maintaining product displays
- Support daily operations and inventory flow
- Maintain store appearance and cleanliness
- Create social content and engage with community initiatives when needed
QUALIFICATIONS
- Retail or customer service experience preferred but not required
- Strong communication skills
- Flexible availability including weekends and holidays
- Ability to stand, lift, and perform retail activities
- Passion for sneaker culture, fashion, or collectibles strongly preferred
BONUS POINTS
- Sneaker reseller experience
- Knowledge of Pokémon, sports cards, or collectibles
- Social media content creation experience
- Fashion styling experience
