Location: Hospice Care Center in Wayne Healthcare
Schedule: 6:00PM – 6:30AM (set template days)
Weekend Rotation: Every 3rd weekend (Friday & Monday off after worked weekend)
Holiday Rotation: 2 holidays per year
Hours: Part-Time (12 hours/week)
Pay: $38.00 – $43.00/hour (based on education, experience, and certifications)
Position Summary: The Inpatient Registered Nurse provides high-quality, compassionate patient care within our Inpatient Care Center. This role is essential in supporting patients and families through skilled symptom management, emotional support, and clear communication. Additional hours are frequently available for those seeking extra shifts.
Key Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, skilled nursing care including symptom management, emotional support, and patient/family education

Deliver care according to individualized Plans of Care and physician orders

Perform accurate nursing assessments and monitor changes in patient condition

Collaborate with physicians, Medical Directors, and the interdisciplinary team, including IDG participation

Assist with developing, implementing, and updating patient Plans of Care

Educate and support caregivers, hospice aides, and volunteers

Accurately explain hospice services, insurance benefits, Medicare/Medicaid regulations, Palliative Care interventions, and ABNs.

Coordinate continuity of care, including transitions between home and inpatient settings

Obtain and document physician orders and coordinate Durable Medical Equipment (DME)

Complete timely, accurate documentation in compliance with agency, accreditation, and regulatory standards

Work evenings, weekends, and additional shifts as needed

Qualifications
- Current Ohio RN license

Minimum 2 years RN experience (Med/Surg, Oncology, or Community Health preferred; hospice a plus)

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Strong communication and time management skills

Ability to work independently
