Browning Chapman is seeking an experienced and driven Safety Manager to lead and strengthen our safety culture across multiple construction projects. This role is much more than enforcing policies — we are looking for a leader who can build relationships in the field, coach teams through real-world challenges, and create an environment where employees feel supported, respected, and empowered to work confidently and responsibly.
The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who leads by example, approaches situations with professionalism and positivity, and is passionate about developing a proactive safety culture throughout the company. This individual will work closely with field leadership and crews to promote accountability, encourage teamwork, and provide hands-on support on active jobsites.
Key Leadership Responsibilities
- Champion and strengthen a proactive, people-first safety culture throughout the organization.
- Serve as a visible leader in the field, building strong relationships with employees, supervisors, foremen, and project managers.
- Coach, mentor, and develop field personnel on safe work practices and leadership accountability.
- Partner with operations teams to proactively identify and eliminate workplace hazards.
- Lead by example, demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Recognize positive safety behaviors and help foster a culture of accountability and respect.
Safety & Compliance Responsibilities
- Serve as a visible and positive presence on jobsites by building strong relationships with field employees, foremen, superintendents, and project managers
- Mentor and coach field teams through daily safety practices and safe work planning
- Conduct regular jobsite inspections, audits, and safety evaluations to proactively identify and correct hazards
- Promote a culture where safety is viewed as a shared responsibility and core company value
- Assist project teams with Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), risk assessments, and pre-task planning
- Monitor subcontractor compliance and support project-specific safety planning.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety concerns while developing practical corrective action plans
- Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, company policies, and client-specific safety requirements
- Maintain accurate safety records, reports, and documentation
- Collaborate with operations and field leadership to continuously improve safety performance and employee engagement
- Travel to jobsites as needed to provide direct field support and leadership
Qualifications
- Previous experience in construction safety management required
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety practices
- Proven leadership ability with strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to coach, mentor, and positively influence field teams
- Organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital reporting platforms
- OSHA 30 required; CHST, CSP, or additional certifications preferred
- Valid driver’s license with ability to travel to project sites

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
