Maintenance Technician (Multi-Site Commercial Properties)Position Summary

Ashco Centers is seeking a dependable, self-motivated Maintenance Technician to maintain multiple commercial properties throughout the Jacksonville area. The ideal candidate is a hands-on professional with experience in general building maintenance, preventative maintenance, and repair of commercial facilities.
This position requires daily travel between assigned properties to perform routine inspections, respond to maintenance requests, complete repairs, and ensure each property is maintained to the highest standards of safety, cleanliness, and appearance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs at multiple commercial properties.
- Conduct scheduled inspections of buildings, parking areas, sidewalks, landscaping, lighting, and other site improvements.
- Perform general repairs involving plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, doors, locks, flooring, and other building components.
- Troubleshoot maintenance issues and determine appropriate corrective action.
- Replace lighting, HVAC filters, ceiling tiles, hardware, and other routine building components.
- Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of building exteriors, common areas, and service areas.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency service calls.
- Perform preventative maintenance to reduce equipment failures and extend the life of building systems.
- Coordinate with outside contractors and vendors when specialized repairs or services are required.
- Assist with tenant build-outs, property improvements, renovations, and special projects.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and inventory of supplies and materials.
- Safely transport tools, equipment, and materials between company properties.
- Identify and report safety concerns, code violations, or major repair needs to management.
- Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and OSHA guidelines.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of commercial maintenance, facilities maintenance, or handyman experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of:
- Basic electrical systems
- Plumbing repairs
- Carpentry
- Drywall and painting
- General mechanical repairs
- Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, and maintenance equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while working independently.
- Professional appearance and customer-service attitude when interacting with tenants.
- Valid Florida driver's license.
- Reliable transportation to travel between company properties.
- Must provide and maintain a basic set of personal hand tools.
Physical Requirements
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and climb ladders.
- Perform work on rooftops, in mechanical rooms, and other confined or elevated areas.
- Work safely both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, including Florida heat, humidity, rain, and cold temperatures.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work throughout an entire shift.
Work Schedule
- Full-time position
- Monday through Friday
- Daily travel between multiple commercial properties
- Occasional overtime and emergency after-hours response may be required
