Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Assistant Manager to lead our bakery team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee and participate in daily operations, ensure exceptional customer service, and maintain high standards of food quality and safety. Your leadership will inspire staff and create a friendly environment for customers. This position requires hands-on production work, including but not limited to: mixing dough from scratch, hand-scooping cookies and muffins, preparing bars, overseeing baking in commercial convection ovens, utilizing a three-step process to hand-wash dishes, and general cleaning and disinfecting, along with monitoring inventory of goods and supplies for daily operations. This position is Monday through Friday, 9:30 am to approximately 4:30 pm; no weekends or evenings are available or required.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily bakery operations, including food preparation, service flow, and cleanliness standards
- Lead and motivate team members through effective training, coaching, and performance management
- Manage staff scheduling, shift assignments, and ensure adequate coverage during peak hours
- Oversee food safety protocols, inventory control, and proper food handling procedures
- Utilize the Square POS system for order processing and cash handling with accuracy
- Ensure excellent customer service by addressing guest concerns promptly and maintaining a positive atmosphere
Qualifications
- Strong leadership abilities with excellent communication skills in managing a team, with demonstrated supervisory or assistant manager experience is required; experience in managing kitchen operations is preferred
- Familiarity with food safety management, inventory control, and food production standards is required; Food Safety Management Training for certification will be provided if necessary
- Proficiency in cash handling and basic math skills required; knowledge of the Square POS system a plus;
- Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining a positive attitude and team focus
