Job Overview St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Dover, NH is seeking a full-time Chemistry/Physics Teacher for grades 9-12 for the 2026-2027 school year. This position will include sections of Chemistry, Physics, and/or Physical Science. The ideal candidate will: Possess a strong subject background, teaching experience, and a solid understanding of high school curriculum in Chemistry and Physics.Share a vision for integrating STEM education and fostering scientific inquiry in the classroom.Bring enthusiasm, energy, and passion to the classroom setting through a variety of teaching and learning practices, including laboratory-based instruction.Connect positively with both students and families.Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.Explore collaborative and interdisciplinary teaching relationships with colleagues.
Education and Experience: A bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Physics, Physical Science, or a related field is required, with a masters degree preferred.High school teaching experience is preferred.Possession of New Hampshire state certification in the appropriate subject area(s) and/or the ability to work toward state certification. Job Summary and Expectations: Under the supervision of the Principal and Department Chair, the Teacher: Assumes responsibility for the leadership and management of the classes they are assigned.Strives to achieve the goals of the St. Thomas Aquinas Mission Statement, the Catholic faith, and values.Develops and implements a daily instructional program according to the needs of the students and the established curriculum.Prepares and supervises safe, engaging laboratory experiences that reinforce scientific concepts and develop critical thinking skills.Recognizes and incorporates the rich diversity of the students in the classroom and their unique talents to foster a culture of belonging.Maintains accurate records of attendance, scholastic achievement, etc. as required by the school, diocese, and state.Builds a positive classroom culture and contributes to a welcoming school community rooted in mutual respect, collaboration, and shared purpose.Commits to ongoing professional learning and growth.
