Project Manager / Building Inspector
Building Diagnostics Group, Inc. (BDG) is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Project Manager / Building Diagnostic Technician to join our growing team. About Us
Building Diagnostics Group (BDG) is a nationwide consulting firm specializing in infrared thermography and non-destructive building envelope evaluations. We work with some of the country’s leading commercial real estate investors, engineering firms, and property owners, helping them identify hidden moisture intrusion and building deficiencies using state-of-the-art thermal imaging equipment and drone technology.
Position Summary
The Project Manager will be responsible for planning and coordinating projects, traveling to job sites, performing field inspections, managing client communication, and preparing professional reports. No prior infrared thermography experience is required—we provide extensive training to the right candidate.
This position requires frequent nationwide travel and occasional evening work to perform thermal roof inspections.
Responsibilities
- Manage projects from scheduling through final report delivery
- Travel throughout the United States to perform commercial building inspections
- Conduct infrared thermal imaging inspections of roofs, building exteriors, and interior spaces
- Operate drones (FAA Part 107 certification preferred or willingness to obtain)
- Document findings with thermal and digital photography
- Prepare clear, professional inspection reports
- Communicate with clients before, during, and after inspections
- Coordinate travel logistics and project schedules
- Maintain BDG’s high standards for professionalism and customer service
Qualifications
Required
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Ability to travel extensively (50–75%+)
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Comfortable climbing ladders and walking commercial roofs
- Able to lift approximately 50 pounds
- Must be over the age of 25 due to rental car requirements
Preferred
- Construction, engineering, roofing, building envelope, or property inspection experience
- FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience with drones, photography, or infrared thermography
- Technical report writing experience
