Attends Daily AM Report/Quality Assurance Meeting
Completion of daily census updates
Plans and coordinates the daily activities and operations of the Admitting Department to ensure effective, efficient utilization of nursing home beds.
Screens all referrals for potential admission prior to giving to DNS/Designee
Ensures all PRIs received are reviewed and referred to DNS/designee in a timely manner.
Responds to all referrals in a timely manner with goal for 15 minutes or less response time
Ensures all insurance is verified, documented, and authorized.
Completes all pre-admission checks including sex offender registry
Controls the workflow process regarding nursing home admissions, discharges, and transfers or residents and ensures the appropriate information is disseminated to all departments concerned
Participates in the utilization review/discharge process.
Recommends policies and procedures pertaining to admissions, discharges, and transfers.
Responsible for upkeep of admissions, discharges, and room change logs.
Assist families regarding admissions procedures and provide tours of the facility.
Responsible for reviewing the admission agreement with the resident, family, client, or sponsor and obtaining the necessary signatures and documentation.
Responsible for administrative and other related departmental duties as required.
Responsible for gathering preadmission information.
Responsible for communicating all admissions with the interdisciplinary team in a timely manner.
Responsible for ensuring that the admission room is ready with all required equipment on-site/ordered
Completes all pre-admission activities timely upon confirmation of scheduled admission
Responsible for Marketing the Nursing Home
HIPAA—ensure that individuals’ health information is properly protected.
Participates in community outreach projects.
Performs work of equal skill and responsibilities as directed. Maybe be assigned additional tasks.
Performs all other related duties as required and unrelated duties as requested during emergencies
Working knowledge of state and federal regulations.
Must be able to read, speak, write, and understand the English language. Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such actions.
Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, and family members.
Must possess the willingness to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel.
Must possess patient, tact and a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents, if necessary.

Ability to recognize and later describe persons associated with nursing homes' safety and security.
Must have at least 1 year experience in a skilled nursing admissions setting
