ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
All agents are required to perform the various duties at the different job sites, listed below but not limited to any given day assigned and required by the international carriers on day-to-day operational needs.
SHIP-SIDE GUARD:
- Grab a hand healed metal detector, paperwork to log information and proceed to gate Get flight ETA and gate number from the airline office.
- Inspect ramp area prior to the arrival of the aircraft ( conduct FOD inspection, all equipment are outside the safety area, etc.. )
- Monitor the loading and unloading of everything coming on, off, and around the aircraft. Comply with TSA and Airport rules and regulations.
CABIN GUARD:
Grab a hand healed metal detector, paperwork to log information, and proceed to gate Get flight ETA and gate number from the airline office.
Protect the door of the aircraft and challenging EVERYONE who attempts to gain access to the aircraft. Inspect passengers and employees for proper access to restricted areas.
Comply with all TSA and Airport rules and regulations.
TICKET COUNTER:
- Must set up counter ( Extensions, sighs, banners, chairs, carpets, etc.. )
- Assist passengers to the proper lines ( first class, business, or economy )
- comply with TSA and Airport rules and regulations.
- Transfer LIVE animals to the barroom and proceed with paperwork for the barroom coordinator.
BAGGAGE RUNNER:
- Comply with safety in the workplace.
- Must set up the counter (Extensions, signs, banners, chairs, carpets, etc...)
- If working in front of the counter must assist passengers to offload their luggage from the carts into the scale.
- If working behind the counter must remove the luggage from the scale and place them into the belt.
- Comply with proper baggage hygiene
- Accurately complete all assigned activities
- Coordinate and communicate with relevant departments (Ramp Team, bag room Team, Customer Service, and management)
- Clear Understanding of Airport Legislative Requirements and regulations.
- Transfer LIVE animals to the bag room and complete the paperwork for the bag room coordinator
WHEELCHAIR DRIVER:
Under the supervision of the supervisor or manager on duty, the Passenger Wheelchair Driver is responsible for assisting and transporting passengers that need assistance to and from their assigned gate or other airport location in a safe, friendly, courteous, and timely manner.
- Assists and transports passengers requiring wheelchair assistance to/from assigned gate and/or from their arriving flights
- Operate TTV's (Terminal Transport Vehicle)
- Assist with seating passengers onto/off TTV
- Assist passengers with hand carry luggage
- Check boarding information of passengers assisting/transporting in TTV
- Reads the airport monitors to determine arrival and departure information and arranges gates for incoming passengers who need assistance
- Driver passenger in a safe manner (following LAWA Safe program)
- Safely lifts passengers up/downstairs, seats of aircraft, and in/out of wheelchairs/TTV (Terminal Transport Vehicle).
- Communicates instructions and special services to gate agents or other personnel for passengers
- Gathers wheelchairs in the concourse and returns them to the staging area for use
- Ensure all mobility-impaired passengers are given adequate service.
- Coordinate between Wheelchair Staff, airline personnel, Baggage porter provider, any other as needed.
- All other duties as assigned
WHEELCHAIR AGENT:
- Assists and transports passengers requiring wheelchair assistance to/from assigned gate and/or from their arriving flights to the FIS (Federal Inspection Service) area.
- Safely lifts special needs passengers up/downstairs, seats of aircraft, and in/out of wheelchairs.
- Assist with transporting mobility-impaired passengers Assist passengers with completing documentation in order to be processed by US Customs.
- Read appropriate paperwork to identify the name, international flight information, date, and special service request details to ensure special needs passengers are taken to the correct gate destination.
- Assists special needs passengers and unaccompanied minors in transporting and claiming personal belongings and baggage.
- Reads the airport monitors to determine arrival and departure information and arranges gates for incoming passengers who need special assistance.
- Greets passengers in a friendly and courteous manner.
- Uses Tracking system and or by Dispatchers to provide pickup and drop-off of special needs passengers.
- Communicates instructions and special services to gate agents or other personnel for passengers with special needs.
- Gathers wheelchairs in the concourse and returns them to the staging area for use.
- May assist in arranging ground transportation.
- Ensure all mobility-impaired passengers are given adequate service.
- Coordinate between Wheelchair Staff and Baggage porter provider.
- Transport passengers out of the Customs area to the meet and greet lobby area. (located at arrival level)
- Transport passengers to their connecting flights/terminals when appropriate.
- All other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be able to work split shifts
- Must be able to lift and maneuver 50 lbs.
- Must be able to stand 6-8 hours daily
- Must be able to work in inclement weather conditions
- Must be proficient in English
- Airport experience a big plus
- Able to stay overtime to get the work done in a timely manner
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Must pass requirement by SBO and CBP to obtain LAWA Badge check and pre-employment physical and drug screen
- Tech-savvy. Must be proficient in the use of modern technology (computers, devices, cell phone applications, etc.)
- Push a 350 lbs wheelchair passenger, lift and maneuver 50lbs
- Must have a High School Diploma or higher
- Must be able to multi-tasks
- Great customer service skill
- Have flexible schedule
- Have a valid CA Driver's License and maintain in good standing
- Able to stay overtime to get the work done in a timely prompt manner
- Must be able to legally work in the USA
Pay rate : $22.50/Hour
