Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to join our team. The RBT will work directly with individuals with autism and other developmental disorders, implementing behavior intervention plans under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). This role is crucial in providing support and education to clients and their families, fostering positive behavioral changes and enhancing the quality of life for those we serve.
Duties
- Implement individualized behavior intervention plans as directed by the supervising BCBA.
- Collect and record data on client behaviors and progress towards goals.
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) to promote independence.
- Provide support in behavior management strategies to address challenging behaviors.
- Educate clients and families about behavioral therapy techniques and strategies.
- Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure consistent application of behavioral strategies.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is required.
- Experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum or with developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and behavior management principles is beneficial.
- Familiarity with data collection methods and documentation practices related to patient care.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively educate clients and families.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while demonstrating empathy and patience.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
