Job Overview
I am seeking a motivated, organized, and creative Author Administrative & Marketing Assistant to join me as I build my author brand and launch a long-term publishing journey. I recently published my first memoir, We Grew Up Together (Volume 1: The Red Book), which is the beginning of the Broken Glass Book Series, an 11-book, color-coordinated memoir series in which each book's color represents a unique season, meaning, and purpose. The series is centered on themes of love, family, healing, faith, and personal growth.
This is an exciting opportunity to join me at the very beginning of a growing author platform. As additional books are released over the coming years, I am looking for someone who is excited to grow alongside me by helping build meaningful connections with readers and supporting the marketing, organization, and day-to-day operations that come with publishing a book series.
While I will continue managing the writing and self-publishing process through Amazon KDP, I am looking for a trusted assistant to help expand my reach through marketing, social media, reader engagement, events, and administrative support.
This is a part-time position (approximately 5–10 hours per week to start) with opportunities for additional hours as the book series, speaking engagements, and author platform continue to grow. I prefer someone local who can occasionally meet in person and travel with me to book signings, speaking engagements, conferences, and community events (all travel expenses will be covered). However, I am also open to remote applicants within reasonable driving distance.
The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, creative, self-motivated, and excited about helping build something meaningful from the ground up. Because my books are Christ-centered and faith-based, I am looking for someone who is comfortable supporting and promoting content that reflects Christian values.

- Coordinate Advance Reader Copy (ARC) and book review teams.
- Research marketing opportunities, podcasts, interviews, conferences, and advertising options.
- Help organize book signings, speaking engagements, vendor events, and community appearances.
- Travel with me to selected events as needed (travel expenses provided).
- Meet with me regularly to discuss goals, brainstorm ideas, review projects, and help keep priorities on track.
- Keep organized notes, reminders, and project timelines to ensure tasks are completed efficiently.
- Assist with general administrative duties using Canva, Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and other marketing tools.
- Help identify creative opportunities to expand the Broken Glass Book Series and strengthen my overall author brand.
Qualifications
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with social media platforms and content creation.
- Familiarity with Canva, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to learn new technology and marketing tools.
- Dependable, trustworthy, and able to maintain confidentiality.
- Able to work independently while communicating consistently.
- Previous experience in marketing, communications, administrative support, or customer service is preferred but not required.
- A willingness to learn about self-publishing and the book industry. Training will be provided where needed.
- Comfortable supporting and representing a Christ-centered author brand.
Why Join Me?
This is more than a part-time assistant position. It is an opportunity to help build an author brand from its foundation while making a lasting impact through stories that encourage healing, strengthen families, inspire hope, and point readers toward Christ.
If you enjoy creativity, organization, marketing, and being part of a meaningful long-term vision, I would love to hear from you. I am looking for someone who is excited to contribute ideas, grow professionally, and become a trusted part of this journey as the Broken Glass Book Series continues to reach readers around the world.
