We are seeking an energetic and friendly Food Runner and Hostess to join our dynamic restaurant team! In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, ensuring they feel welcomed and valued from the moment they arrive. You will also support the kitchen and service staff by efficiently delivering food orders to tables, maintaining a smooth flow of service. Your enthusiasm, excellent communication skills, and hospitality expertise will help create memorable dining experiences that keep guests coming back. Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival, manage reservations, and assist with seating arrangements to optimize the dining flow
- Provide attentive guest services by answering questions about the menu, restaurant offerings, and special accommodations
- Deliver food orders promptly from the kitchen to tables, ensuring accuracy and presentation standards are maintained
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of host stand, waiting area, and service stations to uphold a welcoming environment
- Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff using effective communication skills to ensure timely delivery of orders
- Manage guest inquiries via phone or in person with professionalism and courtesy, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette
- Assist in managing waitlists using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS to ensure efficient table turnover
Qualifications
- Prior experience as a host/hostess or in food service is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for hospitality is essential
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage guests warmly and professionally
- Experience working with restaurant POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS is a plus
- Knowledge of guest services, serving procedures, and restaurant operations enhances your effectiveness in this role
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a positive attitude under pressure
- Previous hotel or guest relations experience is advantageous but not mandatory
- Excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal skills to foster guest satisfaction and loyalty
