Position Description
Performs day-to-day laundry services in accordance with current Federal, State, and Local standards, guidelines, and regulations governing our facility, and as may be directed by the Administrator and/or supervisor. Responsible for ensuring that facility linens, resident clothing, and other washable items are cleaned, dried, folded, sorted, and distributed in a timely, sanitary, and organized manner to help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents.
Pay: $14-$16/hr.
Shifts:
1 PM to 9 PM every Friday and Saturday
5 AM to 1 PM every other Saturday and Sunday
Principal Responsibilities
- Performs a variety of laundry duties to ensure resident clothing, linens, towels, blankets, and other washable items are cleaned and maintained in a sanitary, safe, and orderly condition.
- Receives assignments from supervisor and follows laundry schedules and procedures as outlined for the laundry department, including collecting, sorting, washing, drying, folding, hanging, labeling, and distributing laundry items.
- Collects soiled linens and resident clothing from designated areas while following infection control procedures and properly handling contaminated or hazardous materials.
- Sorts laundry by type, color, fabric, soil level, and washing requirements; ensures resident personal items are handled carefully and returned to the correct resident or department.
- Operates washers, dryers, and other laundry equipment in a safe and appropriate manner; cleans lint traps, dryer vents, and laundry equipment as assigned.
- Folds, stacks, hangs, and stores clean linens and resident clothing in designated areas; delivers clean laundry to resident rooms, linen closets, nursing units, and other assigned areas.
- Reports damaged clothing, missing items, equipment issues, supply needs, unsafe conditions, or concerns regarding laundry services to the supervisor.
- Maintains laundry rooms, carts, storage areas, and work areas in a clean, organized, and sanitary condition.
- Follows facility policies and procedures related to infection control, chemical use, resident rights, confidentiality, safety, and proper handling of personal belongings.

Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalency preferred.
- Prior laundry, housekeeping, or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
- Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.
- Must be able to read labels, follow safety instructions, and properly use laundry equipment and cleaning chemicals.
- Experience in a skilled nursing facility, healthcare facility, hotel, or commercial laundry setting preferred but not required.
