Job Overview
We are seeking passionate and dedicated Amateur Hockey Scouts to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying and evaluating talented hockey players at various levels throughout Canada, United States and Europe. Neutral Zone is the exclusive amateur hockey scouting partner of RinkNet, the leading scouting technology provider in the sport of hockey; with a client list that includes NHL, CHL, NCAA D1, USHL, agents and high level junior leagues. As a result, Neutral Zone scouts reports are being read by the decision makers in the game from General Manager to Directors of Scouting to coaches, agents and regional scouts and everyone in between. As a result we offer a unique opportunity where our scouts have the highest level of exposure to anyone in the industry.
Duties
- Attend games and tournaments to observe players in action, assessing their skills, potential, and overall ability.
- Perform detailed scouting reports, evaluations and rankings for prospects in your area (assigned geographic or league) on RinkNet software.
- Communicate with scouting directors on scheduling, assignments and the overall prospect pool
- Attend annual training on scouting trends, updates in technology and information
Requirements
- Playing or coaching experience prefered especially in scouting capacity
- Strong evaluation/analytic skills to effectively assess player capabilities and character.
- Familiarity with RinkNet Software preferred but not required (training availabile)
- Strong writing ability to accurately and descriptively articulate a prospects skill set
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- A genuine passion for hockey and a deep understanding of the game’s dynamics.
- Willingness to travel frequently for games and tournaments.
