Responsibilities
· Assist during oral surgery procedures, including extractions, implant placements, and other advanced surgical treatments, ensuring all instruments and materials are prepared and sterilized according to infection prevention management protocols.
· Operate dental radiography equipment to capture high-quality X-ray images while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies.
· Manage dental instrument processing, sterilization procedures, and aseptic techniques to uphold the highest standards of infection control.
· Maintain accurate medical documentation and records within EMR (Electronic Medical Records) on Eaglesoft, including medical history updates, vital signs, and procedural notes.
· Prepare treatment areas with appropriate dental instruments, supplies, and materials for each procedure while ensuring compliance with infection prevention standards.
· Assist with patient education on oral health care post-surgery or treatment instructions while demonstrating excellent clinical confidentiality policies.
Experience
· Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting with a focus on oral surgery or general dentistry. However, we are willing to train the right person.
· Familiarity with dental x-ray equipment and proficiency in taking intraoral and extraoral images using 3D scanners or other medical imaging tools.
· Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and oral surgery procedures.
· Hands-on experience with infection control protocols, sterilization procedures, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection prevention standards.
· Ability to operate EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, for medical documentation and records management.
· Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
