Specimen Collector Responsibilities:
To perform this job an individual must be able to perform each essential duty to a satisfactory standard. Ensure that all patient paperwork is filled out correctly and all necessary information has been captured at the time of the collection

Update and maintain patient information and records as necessary while, ensuring patients complete privacy. Observing HIPPA regulations while using laboratory information system.

Perform and follow specimen (urine and saliva) collections protocols for specimen collection.

Conducts directly observed urine specimen collections for male patients in a rehabilitation setting, ensuring compliance with clinical protocols

Monitor and maintain supplies and supply records for all clinic needs. Communicating to lab any supplies requested in a timely manner.

Securely and safely package specimens for pick up by the lab's courier service.

Follow general work protocols regarding breaks and cell phone usage during business hours.

Adherence to all clinic policies and OSHA standards/policies
Education and or Experience:
-
HS Diploma or GED
-
Minimum of 1 year experience in Customer Service

Minimum of 1 year experience in a Similar Role, such as a Laboratory or Medical Office working with Specimens.
