American Traveler is hiring a travel SPD Supervisor for a high-volume sterile processing department in Austin, TX, requiring a minimum of 5 years of SPD experience and active CRCST certification.

Works in the Sterile Processing Department (SPD) of a large acute care hospital
-
Supports instrumentation processing for the OR, L&D, and acute care departments
-
OR averages 60 cases daily and L&D averages 20–25 deliveries per day — a high-volume environment

Shift hours are 5:30 AM – 3:00 PM, Friday through Sunday

13-week contract

Active TX RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand

BLS certification required (must be AHA-issued)

CRCST certification (or equivalent) required

Minimum 5 years of recent, full-time SPD experience in a high-volume hospital setting

Demonstrated proficiency in all phases of sterile processing: decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and case cart preparation

Proven ability to operate independently in decontamination areas without supervision

Extensive knowledge of AAMI standards, OSHA regulations, and Joint Commission guidelines for sterile processing, including IUSS protocols

Experience with complex instrument trays for specialty services such as orthopedics, neurosurgery, and cardiology

Verifiable references from at least two prior travel assignments confirming independent performance with no training required

Must possess a US Social Security Number and provide a US home address

Two professional references required

Copy of Driver's License required for consideration
