JOB SUMMARY
We are a fast-paced, high-volume automotive repair shop specializing in the repair of wrecked and damaged vehicles. We are seeking a dependable Automotive Collision & Repair Technician to perform a wide range of repairs, including body work, mechanical repairs, engine and transmission replacements, and electrical diagnostics. Experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person who is motivated, reliable, and eager to learn.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform collision-related body repairs including panel replacement, body straightening, and refinishing preparation
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues related to collision damage (suspension, steering, cooling systems, brakes, etc.)
- Remove and replace engines and transmissions, including associated components and systems
- Diagnose and repair electrical issues including wiring, sensors, lighting systems, airbags, and vehicle control modules
- Remove and reinstall vehicle components such as bumpers, doors, fenders, hoods, and interior trim
- Use diagnostic tools, scan tools, and repair software to identify and resolve vehicle issues
- Ensure all repairs meet manufacturer specifications and safety standards
- Work efficiently to meet production goals and turnaround times
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Communicate clearly with management and team members regarding repair progress and parts needs
- Follow all shop safety procedures and OSHA guidelines
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn multiple areas of repair
- Ability to follow repair orders, instructions, and shop procedures
- Proficient with hand tools and power tools (or willingness to learn)
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience in automotive repair, collision repair, or a related field OR willingness to be trained
- Experience in a high-volume collision or automotive repair environment
- Experience with engine and/or transmission replacement
- Electrical diagnostic experience with modern vehicles and scan tools
- Familiarity with late-model vehicles and manufacturer repair procedures
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs. regularly
- Ability to work in a shop environment with noise, fumes, and varying temperatures
