POSITION OF VACANCY
EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN (EMT) TEACHER
APPLICATION DEADLINE: Open Until Filled
HIRING RANGE: Salary dependent on professional and teaching experience
$36.43/hr. – $63.14/hr. plus 25% preparation time (minimum hourly rate)
STARTING DATE: AUGUST 2026
HOURS: Tuesdays and Thursdays, some Saturdays 4:00 PM - 9:00 PM
LOCATION: Trabuco Hills High School, Saddleback Valley Unified School District

THE POSITION:
Instruct high school and adult students in competency-based EMT classes. Under the direction of the Administrator of Educational Programs, plan, operate, and evaluate learning activities in EMT. Instruction will include lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on activities.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Instruct high school students and adults in a classroom setting.
- Maintain accurate student records including grades, progress reports and attendance.
- Assist in curriculum development and/or revision.
- Develop lesson plans aligned with approved course outline.
- Participate in annual advisory committee meetings, staff meetings and professional development activities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Firefighter, Firefighter/Paramedic, Paramedic or EMT required.
- Must possess or be willing to acquire NAEMSE Certification.
- Three (3) years of related work experience or one (1) year related work experience and 48 semester hours of related postsecondary vocational training.
- Possess or be eligible for a Career Technical Education (CTE) Credential.
- High School diploma or equivalent
- High School diploma or equivalent.
