Job Overview
Garden State Lawn and Landscaping LLC is seeking a dependable and motivated crew member to join our team. This is position ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on outdoor work and are interested in learning the landscaping and lawn care industry. The crew member will assist crew members and supervisors with day-to-day landscape, maintenance, and insulation tasks across residential properties throughout the growing season. This role involves physical labor, teamwork attention to detail and a willingness to learn new skills on the job prior Landscaping experiences is preferred. Training will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Manage weekly lawn maintenance services, including: Ensure all work meets company quality, safety, and service standards
- Mowing, trimming, edging, and blowing
- Job site setup and cleanup
- Ensuring properties are serviced thoroughly and professionally
- Oversee and assist with landscape projects such as:
- Planting trees, shrubs, and ornamentals
- Bed preparation and maintenance
- Lawn renovations
- Mulch and stone installation
- Seasonal cleanups
- Direct, train, and support crew members throughout the workday
- Assign tasks and ensure crew productivity and efficiency
- Perform daily equipment inspections using company checklists
- Ensure tools, trucks, and trailers are properly loaded, maintained, and secured
- Identify equipment issues and report maintenance needs
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site at all times
- Communicate professionally with customers when needed
Skills
- Previous landscaping, lawn care, or related outdoor work experience preferred
- Leadership experience or ability to confidently manage a small crew
- Strong work ethic and ability to lead by example
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
- Comfortable working outdoors in hot, cold, rainy, and varying weather conditions
- Basic understanding of landscape equipment and small engines
- Ability to follow schedules, route plans, and service checklists
- Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
- Professional appearance and demeanor when interacting with customers
Preferred Qualifications(Not Required)
- Prior landscaping knowledge, crew leader or supervisory experience
- Knowledge of proper mowing techniques, plant installation, and job site efficiency
- Mechanical aptitude for diagnosing basic equipment issues
- Valid New Jersey driver’s license
Pay: From $19.00 per hour
