Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients in a home setting overnight. This role is crucial in ensuring the comfort and well-being of patients, and the ideal candidate must be a reliable, self-motivated, and dedicated candidate who has a passion for helping others. Must have reliable transportation or drivers license for medication pick up, grocery shopping, and taking the patient to their medical appointments. Must have CNA or HHA license.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
- Monitor and report changes in patient conditions to nursing staff.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients.
- Help with meal preparation and feeding when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients.
- Document patient care activities accurately and timely.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred; familiarity with geriatrics or emergency medicine is a plus.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and basic patient care practices.
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments such as trauma centers.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others.
- Must be able to lift and move patients safely when required.
- Certification as a Personal Care Assistant or similar qualification is preferred but not mandatory.
