Duties
- Assist with meal preparation and cooking using proper techniques and equipment.
- Handle food safely by following hygiene standards and managing food safety protocols.
- Operate food preparation equipment efficiently and safely to support kitchen operations.
- Perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting of ingredients and supplies.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper storage of ingredients.
- Support food production processes such as slicing, portioning, and plating dishes.
- Follow safety standards during all stages of food handling and production to prevent accidents or contamination.
Skills
- Basic knife skills and slicing techniques essential for efficient food prep.
- Experience in meal preparation, food handling, or catering is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and hygiene regulations.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle manual tasks with care.
- Familiarity with food preparation equipment operation and culinary techniques.
- Good understanding of basic math for portioning and measurements.
- Strong teamwork skills combined with a positive attitude towards learning new skills in a fast-paced environment.
