EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
The Child Development Center Staff II, Lead Teacher position is a twelve month position. This position works in a fully equipped, high-quality classroom and holds primary responsibility for designing and implementing a developmentally appropriate early care and education environment. This position reports directly to the Director of the Child Development Center and has the following responsibilities:

Promote the college mission, vision and values

Designing, implementing, and evaluating developmentally appropriate classroom environments that reflect and support diversity for children aged six weeks to five years

Integrating principles of child development into all aspects of program planning and daily practice

Modeling research-based, current best practices in early childhood care and education

Observing, documenting, and assessing development and learning at both individual and group levels

Demonstrating flexibility, adaptability, and a commitment to working collaboratively within a team-based environment

Maintaining accurate, confidential, and up-to-date records for each child

Consulting with the Director and/or Assistant Director of the Child Development Center to recommend appropriate resources and referrals for families as needed

Supervising Early Childhood Education students in the classroom, providing timely and constructive feedback on assignments, observations, and cooperative work experiences
Perform other tasks as assigned which support the mission and initiatives of the College.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION ADA requirements for this position include critical thinking skills with the ability to process information and exercise good judgment; ease of mobility within the work environment and other areas of campus and College locations; travel between campus locations may be required; and effective use of all forms of communication including use of computers.
