TITLE: Assistant Principal - Portland High School
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Portland High School has an opening for an Assistant Principal. We are seeking a visionary leader who:

Has a passion for working with high school age students

Understands diversity and cultural differences, and develops strong community partnerships.

Is an excellent communicator both in person and in writing

Understands teacher supervision, evaluation and school safety

Sets behavioral limits and is understanding of restorative practices

Is able to manage multiple tasks

Works collaboratively as a member of the administrative team
The successful candidate has high school teaching experience, knowledge of proficiency and proficiency practices, and interest in all aspects of managing a large high school.
CREDENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Maine State Admin Certificate with Endorsement 045 (Assistant Building Administrator) (more info)

Maine State CHRC authorization (more info) **

EMPLOYMENT DETAILS:

Schedule: Full Year, Full Time (1.0 FTE)

Overtime: Salaried position, not eligible for overtime

Contract: Part of PAA union (see 2023-2026 CBA here, **next contract under negotiation**)

Salary: Based on experience & education as per CBA (25-26 range was $101,338-$124,742; 26-27 range will be higher)
