Picasso Restaurant Group is seeking an experienced and driven Head Chef to lead culinary operations at the University of Michigan–Flint cafeteria. We are looking for a passionate culinary professional with strong leadership skills and the ability to execute high-end food production in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Position Overview
The Head Chef will oversee all back-of-house operations, menu execution, food quality, staff leadership, and kitchen performance while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all kitchen operations
- Facilitate high-end, high-volume food production and service
- Execute both upscale catered events and daily café meal service
- Develop and execute creative, quality-driven menus
- Train, mentor, and supervise kitchen staff
- Maintain food quality, consistency, and presentation standards
- Manage inventory, ordering, and food cost controls
- Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety regulations
- Collaborate with management to improve operations and guest satisfaction
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a Head Chef role
- Proven experience in high-volume food service environments
- Experience with both catering and cafeteria-style service preferred
- Strong leadership and team-building skills
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Culinary degree preferred, but not required
- ServSafe certification preferred
