Join our dynamic enrichment program as a Part-time Robotics Coach, inspiring and guiding students from kindergarten through tenth grade to explore the exciting world of robotics and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). Responsibilities
- Lead hands-on robotics sessions that align with curriculum goals for K-10 students, encouraging creativity and critical thinking.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a safe, inclusive, and motivating learning atmosphere.
- Assist students with building, programming, and troubleshooting robotics projects using age-appropriate tools and software.
- Support students’ social-emotional development by applying positive behavior management techniques and providing encouragement.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed during all activities, including basic first aid if necessary.
- Maintain organized materials and equipment, ensuring all robotics tools are used responsibly and stored properly.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children or in educational settings such as daycare, camp counseling, tutoring, or childcare is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of robotics platforms, e.g., LEGO Mindstorms or similar STEM tools is required.
- Experienced with supporting FLL Explorer, FLL Challenge, or FTC teams is highly preferred.
- Strong classroom management skills to maintain an engaging yet disciplined environment.
- Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and patiently to young learners of varying ages and abilities.
- Passion for STEM education, sports coaching, theater arts, or working with children in diverse settings such as babysitting or Christian counseling will be considered an asset.
