Duties
- Coordination of tasks within the Human Resources Department
- Coordination of hiring new employees including job postings, interviewing, schedules, communication with applicants and administrators etc.
- Onboarding of new employees including ensuring updated, required licensure requirements, necessary paperwork, and coordination with other departments to ensure other needs are met (i.e. technology, email, systems)
- Annually organizing and updating certified and classified seniority lists
- Managing worker’s compensation and benefits as needed
- Working with the West Geauga Professional Development Committee to coordinate meetings, review licensure requests and salary movement courses, coordinate fingerprinting for license renewal etc.
- Conduct research regarding various employee matters as directed
- Updating employee personnel files
- Making and implementing decisions independently by drawing conclusions after gathering and analyzing complex information
- Representing the Board of Education and Superintendent’s office to the staff, community, and public about matters that are sensitive and confidential.
- Organizing and updating district policies
- Coordinating the board agenda and recording minutes for board meetings
- Receiving and handling telephone calls from multiple stakeholders, including administrators and the board of education
- Setting agendas and meetings related to the board and superintendent
- Copying and distributing materials for the board and superintendent
- Communicating with multiple staff members about confidential matters
- Independently communicating large amounts of complex and sensitive information; troubleshooting problems.
- Preparing memos, letters, policies, bond issues, levy publications, reports and/or proposals as directed
- Preparing communications to the community with minimal direction
- Undertaking multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
- Setting up meetings/conferences and assisting in the development of programs and agendas for the board of education and the superintendent
- Performing and prioritizing a high volume of complex assignments for multiple programs such as gathering and collating data, writing reports, initiating and answering correspondence, complex bookkeeping and data processing.
- Preparing meeting minutes
- Recording and transcribing meeting notes
- Preparing budgets and creating requisitions, ordering supplies
- Assisting with preparation of presentation data: slides, charts, graphs etc.
- Performing word processing on installed software; entering and retrieving data, and setting up spreadsheets, databases, and complex statistical calculation, and budgets
- Compiling reports, information, and data as directed
- Creating databases for contracts, letters, budgets, etc
- Creating documents related to personnel hiring, etc.
- Coordinating and scheduling multiple projects with strict recurring time frames such as state and federal government reports and departmental accounts and budgets.
- Preparation of programs and fliers for a wide variety of events including new teacher day, convocation ceremony and events, professional development day etc.
- Monitoring schedules for all mandatory federal, state, and county reports
- Communicating deadlines and work progress to the superintendent
- Monitoring a schedule for policy development
- Exercising responsibility for management of multi-dimensional, manual and computer-based critical confidential records and files including suspension appeal and expulsion proceedings.
- Contributing to the accomplishment of the district’s goals
- Promoting and maintaining a positive school-community relationship
- Exercising good judgment, courtesy, objectivity, cooperation and concern for the general welfare of the students, staff and families
- Demonstrating a high level of customer service, dependability, reliability, and punctuality
Qualifications:
Minimum:
- Knowledge of and demonstrated skill in computers, including knowledge of spreadsheets, databases, and statistical procedures
- Ability to speak and comprehend sufficiently to give and receive complex information in face-to-face and telephone contact
- Sufficient manual and physical dexterity to complete assigned tasks
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills
- High level of confidentiality
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree and relevant business and/or educational work experience
- Familiarity with USAS Redesign and automated system for purchase orders
Working Conditions

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
