- Manage daily classroom routines, ensuring a safe, clean, and stimulating environment that promotes curiosity and independence.
- Lead lesson planning sessions that align with early childhood education standards, including Montessori methods if applicable.
- Foster positive behavior management strategies to encourage cooperation, respect, and emotional regulation among children.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding each child's progress, milestones, and any concerns while maintaining confidentiality.
- Supervise classroom assistants and support staff to ensure smooth daily operations and high-quality care.
- Stay informed about mandated reporting laws and ensure compliance with all child welfare regulations, including first aid and CPR certifications.
Skills
- Extensive experience working with children in early childhood settings, especially with toddlers.
- Strong knowledge of child development instruction, classroom management, and behavior management techniques.
- Expertise in curriculum development, lesson planning, and implementing literacy education for young learners.
- Familiarity with special education needs, early intervention strategies, and childhood development principles.
- Excellent communication skills for parent engagement and team collaboration.
- Proven ability to manage classrooms effectively while fostering a nurturing environment conducive to learning.
- Knowledge of standardized testing procedures relevant to preschool assessments when applicable.
- Experience with Montessori or other specialized educational approaches is a plus.
- Certifications in first aid and CPR are required; ongoing professional development in early childhood education is encouraged.
