Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - 1:1 School Nurse (High School)

Schedule: Full-Time | 7:15 AM - 4:30 PM
Start Date: September 2, 2026
Pay Rate: Up to $47/hour (based on experience)
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide 1:1 nursing support for a high school student in Chelsea, MA. The nurse will support a student with a gastrostomy tube (G-tube) and provide monitoring and care related to aspiration and swallowing concerns. This role is ideal for an LPN who is passionate about supporting students' health, safety, and educational success in a school-based setting.

Provide direct 1:1 nursing care to an assigned high school student throughout the school day.

Monitor the student's physical condition and respond appropriately to medical needs.

Provide G-tube care and support in accordance with physician orders and district protocols.

Monitor for signs of aspiration, swallowing difficulties, or respiratory distress.

Collaborate with teachers, school staff, parents/guardians, and healthcare providers to support the student's needs.

Assist the student in safely participating in academic and school-related activities.

Maintain accurate nursing documentation and ensure compliance with school health policies.

Respond to emergencies and implement health-related interventions as needed.

Promote a safe, supportive, and inclusive educational environment.
Required

Current and active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.

Ability to provide skilled nursing care independently in a school setting.

Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to pass all required background screening requirements.
Preferred
-
Previous pediatric, school nursing, or special education experience.

Experience working with students requiring G-tube support.

Knowledge of aspiration precautions and swallowing-related health concerns.

Experience providing individualized medical support in educational settings.
