Job type: Full-time (minimum 30 hours per week, up to 40 hrs during peak season).
Requirements:
- Fluent Spanish speaker required
- Friendly and personable, capacity to speak to clients in person and on the phone with an energetic attitude and positive demeanor
- Minimum of 2 years experience working as a bookkeeper or in an accounting office (or Bachelor's in Accounting can be substituted)
- Knowledge of Quickbooks Online and Desktop required
- Excellent typing skills and detail oriented (can do data entry with high accuracy and minimal errors)
- Ability to multi-task and not afraid to ask questions
- Knowledge of business/individual tax return preparation (CTEC licensing preferred but not required)
- Experience with Compliance SOS compliance filings like corporate statements of information, sales & use tax returns, etc..
- Knowledge of Google Docs, Microsoft Excel/Word, and Adobe required
- Knowledge of small business filings Corp and DBA paperwork (preferred but not required)
- Ability to be proactive and research questions and business inquiries as requested
- Ability to organize work space, handle multiple accounts, prioritize and meet deadlines, and complete work in an efficient manner
- Demonstrate knowledge in tax aspects of business transaction issues
- Create and email client invoices
- Must be honest, reliable and organized
- Office is located on a 2nd floor with no elevator

What You'll Do:
- Provide complete bookkeeping services to small business clients:
- Prepare financial statements general ledgers, P&Ls, and other financial reports.
- Enter and monitor client income and expenses
- Download, code and record monthly credit card transactions
- Complete bank reconciliations & generate reports
- Enter General Journal entries
- Prepare vendor/client 1099s as needed
- Prepare and run payroll for clients' employees and run accompanying reports (through private software) under manager's supervision
- Prepare (or enter data) on tax prep software for income tax returns
- Help file Statements of Information & other filings
- Make phone calls to clients as needed to request documents, account info, or other as needed
- Answer phones, take messages, scan documents, prepare mailings, and do simple office filing etc., as needed
- Communicate with vendors to resolve billing inquiries when needed
- Research technical issues as needed
