Hotel General Manager
We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Hotel General Manager to lead all aspects of hotel operations. The ideal candidate is a strong leader who enjoys developing teams, overcoming challenges, improving performance, and creating memorable guest experiences.
This position requires a solid understanding of hotel brand standards, strategic leadership, financial management, revenue performance, and daily hotel operations. The General Manager reports to the Area Operations Manager.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of all hotel departments, including front desk, housekeeping, food and beverage, and maintenance.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, service, safety, and overall guest satisfaction.
- Take a hands-on approach to hotel operations and remain visible and engaged with guests and team members.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, safety requirements, hotel policies, and brand standards.
- Monitor room inventory, availability, pricing, and operational performance.
- Coordinate the purchase of supplies and outside services while maintaining productive vendor relationships.
- Respond to calls, emails, and operational concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Handle guest requests and complaints with professionalism, tact, and a solution-focused approach.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with guests, employees, corporate accounts, clients, vendors, and industry partners.
Leadership and Team Development
- Lead, motivate, and mentor hotel team members while creating a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Recruit, interview, hire, train, and develop employees.
- Assign responsibilities and provide ongoing training to ensure consistency with hotel procedures, safety standards, and service expectations.
- Conduct regular team meetings to communicate updates, provide feedback, and address operational concerns.
- Oversee employee schedules and daily staffing needs.
- Monitor employee performance and provide timely feedback and evaluations.
- Address employee relations matters, including disciplinary action and termination, in accordance with hotel policies and applicable laws.
- Promote accountability, teamwork, integrity, and continuous improvement throughout the hotel.
Financial and Revenue Management
- Develop and oversee departmental plans and strategies that support profitability and quality service.
- Manage hotel budgets, financial reports, expenses, and revenue performance.
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs, improve operational efficiency, and increase revenue.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and revenue management partners to implement effective strategies.
- Monitor market conditions, room rates, inventory, availability, and revenue opportunities.
- Support sales efforts and help strengthen relationships with corporate accounts and key clients.
- Lead new initiatives and projects that improve hotel operations and overall performance.
Qualifications
- Two to four years of experience as a Hotel General Manager or in a senior hotel leadership position.
- Proven experience managing multiple areas of hotel operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Master’s degree in Hotel Management, Business Administration, or a related field is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of financial management, budgeting, revenue strategy, and operational performance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong leadership, communication, organization, and team-management skills.
- Ability to make sound decisions, solve problems, and manage competing priorities.
- Commitment to guest satisfaction, employee development, and operational excellence.
Schedule
- Eight-hour shifts, Monday through Friday
- Must occasionally be available during evenings, weekends, holidays, or emergency situations based on hotel needs
