Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Environmental Services (EVS) Technician to maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment within our healthcare or institutional facility. As an EVS Tech, you will play a vital role in ensuring that patient areas, public spaces, and operational zones meet the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation. Your efforts will directly contribute to infection control, patient safety, and overall facility excellence. Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning and disinfecting of patient rooms, corridors, restrooms, and common areas using approved cleaning agents and techniques.
- Follow established protocols for sanitation to prevent the spread of infections and maintain compliance with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards.
- Operate floor care equipment such as buffers, vacuums, and carpet cleaners to ensure all surfaces are spotless and well-maintained.
- Restock supplies like paper products, hand sanitizers, and cleaning materials in designated areas to support continuous hygiene practices.
- Adhere strictly to safety guidelines related to hazardous materials handling, proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and environmental services procedures.
- Conduct routine inspections of assigned areas to identify cleanliness issues or maintenance needs; report any concerns promptly.
- Support special cleaning projects during hospital or facility events, ensuring minimal disruption to operations while maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
Experience
- Previous custodial or janitorial experience in healthcare settings or commercial environments is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations related to workplace safety, chemical handling, and infection control practices.
- Experience with environmental services tasks such as floor care, sanitation procedures, and general cleaning techniques.
- Familiarity with hospital or healthcare facility protocols is a plus but not mandatory; on-the-job training will be provided.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with attention to detail while following strict safety guidelines.
