About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented and highly organized Junior Bookkeeper to join our team and support the day-to-day financial operations of the business. This role is ideal for someone who is early in their accounting career and wants to develop strong hands-on experience across accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, reporting, and general bookkeeping.
The Junior Bookkeeper will work closely with the finance and operations teams to ensure financial information is accurate, timely, and properly documented. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with numbers, highly organized, curious, and takes pride in catching details before they become problems.
Key ResponsibilitiesGeneral Bookkeeping
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- Record daily financial transactions, including sales, expenses, deposits, and payments.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Maintain organized digital and physical financial records.
- Assist with general ledger maintenance and account coding.
- Identify discrepancies and work with the appropriate team members to resolve them.
Accounts Payable
- Process vendor invoices and ensure expenses are properly coded and approved.
- Maintain accurate vendor records.
- Assist with payment processing and payment schedules.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Follow up on outstanding invoices and documentation as needed.
Accounts Receivable & Sales
- Record and reconcile daily sales activity.
- Assist with accounts receivable and customer payments.
- Reconcile deposits, credit card transactions, and other payment methods.
- Investigate discrepancies between sales reports, payment processors, and accounting records.
- Support accurate reporting of retail and other business revenue.
Bank & Account Reconciliations
- Perform regular bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Review transactions for accuracy and proper categorization.
- Research and resolve reconciliation discrepancies.
- Maintain supporting documentation for reconciled accounts.
Reporting & Administrative Support
- Assist with recurring financial reports and schedules.
- Prepare supporting documentation for management and external accounting partners.
- Assist with audits, tax preparation, and other financial requests.
- Maintain organized files and documentation.
- Provide general administrative support to the finance team as needed.
What We're Looking For
- 1–2 years of bookkeeping, accounting, or related experience preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred but not required.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Comfortable working with Excel or Google Sheets.
- Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks or similar platforms preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and follow-through.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive financial information.
- Comfortable asking questions and learning new systems and processes.
- Retail, hospitality, fashion, or multi-location business experience is a plus.

- Build strong working relationships with the finance, operations, and leadership teams.
- Continuously look for ways to make financial processes more organized and efficient.
Skills & Qualifications
Required:
- Strong attention to detail

Preferred:
- QuickBooks experience
